Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: notify-osd
If i have, e.g. gnome-terminal open in fullscreen on workspace 2, and I
am at the moment on workspace 1, notify-osd won't send the
notification to the screen. This behavior makes sense if the active
workspace is the one where the

Here's the output it gives me, Colin. It seems to have disappeared after
one of the latest updates, though.

I'm currently running Karmic Alpha 5 on my laptop, and the soundcard now
seems to be fully supported. The only thing I've noticed is, that as
default, sound was muted, and I couldn't just un-mute it - I had to go
to the soundsettings and un-mute it from there.

@Robert Ancell,
not neccessarily - like in pidgin, when pressing the close butten, it
disappears to the indicator-applet sub-icon. If you press the icon, it
reappears. If you want to close pidgin, you press ctrl+q or go to the menubar
and do it from there.
Super easy, and the best solution
So, it's great that we all can get sound, but what about sound in?
I thought I would start use Skype, just to try it out, talk with some friends
and so on, but I can't get the front-mic to work. I have tried with all the
different sound-in channels in both sound recorder, Audacity and Skype, but
I just want to make a quick notice on the fix that Martin Thoma posted
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/302145/comments/12) ...
I jaunty, config files has to has a .conf at the end, and the alsa-base
file has therefore been renamed, so the fix is now the following:

There's already a bug about this at:

Also, Stéphane Graber has, in his repo, the driver for the rt2860 card
(the package is called rt2860-source). You can see it here:

I just wanted to let you guys know, that the linux-generic update I got today
broke the Stéphane Graber driver that I have been using for a long time know,
so unfortunately I'm without wifi yet again.
Tried to reinstall it, and it is shown as an active driver in Hardware Drivers,
but neither
I tried to compile the kernel with the driver, and it worked.
I'm not sure what part of what I did made it work, but here's the steps
I took:
aptitude purge rt2860-source
aptitude install rt2860-source
m-a prepare
m-a a-i rt2860-source ( I also tried with m-a a-i rt2860 but neither worked
