I have Compiz installed but I hardly ever have it running. I never had it
running when that problem occured.
But the problem has (magically) been fixed now.
I had it when I used the beta release of Feisty Fawn (ubuntu) But after a
kernel update it stopped happening.

I will try to give you more information.
It starts when I start Amarok. My system monitor goes straight up to 100%
Altough in my processes list there isn't any program that consumes a lot of
cpu power. Not even Amarok.
