I studied the comments on this bug and would like to thank all people who have
been involved in getting a patch into the backports modules.
As I would like to purchase a Wacom Bamboo Fun Medium PenTouch 2nd Generation,

I just want to confirm that svg files are causing problems on ubuntu
10.10 as well. I have tested several files with a clean and updated
install of ubuntu 10.10 amd64 inside virtualbox. When opening the
folder which contains the attached svg-file nautilus crashes
immediately.

I just observed the following behaviour:
I copied an svg-file which crashes nautilus when preview is not turned off, to
a sub folder of my desktop. If I open this folder with nautilus, it doesn't
crash.
Might there be a relation to the pathname?
if the file is stored in this pathname:
forgot the attachment to my comment

** Attachment added: svg-file which makes nautilus crash if stored with a long
pathname
I am sorry - forget about comments #47 an #48. (can I somehow delete them?)
There where other svg-files in the first folder which caused the crashes.

Hi Sebastian, thanks for your aid.
in the mentioned dialog there isn't a reload-button. I suggested to
add a button like this (I stole this hint from a similar bug).
The user of the affected machine rebooted the machine and logged in
again. The message did not appear this time.

I just want to add one thought to this bug:
Might this be related to the x64 version of Ubuntu? I am now running Ubuntu
10.04.1 AMD64.
I first experienced this bug when I mounted my old home directory from my
Ubuntu 9.10 which was a 32bit install. On the 32bit Ubuntu 9.10 I never had any
I experienced nearly the same bug, but I did a fresh install of Jaunty.
I used the LiveCD installer. When I had to choose the keyboard layout I kept

Maybe this is worth a comment:
1) I used Ubuntu 9.04 RC
2) I didn't attend the installation:
started the installer by hand and when the installing procedure started I went
to bed.
I remember from earlier ubuntu-version that during the install the question if
