I have 3.4.2.3 version now. It is still happend for me.
Doesn't connect to icq at startup, even if empathy -h added
Reselect status does not help, only set off and on again icq accaunt status
Where is no icq contacts after set on and connected to icq. But I can see it in

Just add ICQ account and relogin. After login Gtalk and Jabber account
are online but ICQ is not. I use pidgin with another ICQ account to
check my ICQ empathy status.

I have some bug. As well, gnome-shell crash then I open chat window from

I tried to add a second handle, but have not yet achieved a positive
result. In contrast to the thin handles like an Android or Windows
