cfdisk shows partition is 1gb, but the original partition size of 100mb is all

We have impress crashing often at my work where we are trying to do
training [1]. When trying to build debugging packages with instructions
from [2] i get issues similar to [3], but this is on dapper.

The same thing happens with having no swap (re being warned twice), but
thats perhaps more understandable (i dont remember if the warning told
the user what swap is or not though).

this is what i experiance on a day old feisty install:
open system - preferences - desktop effects
select 'enable effects' (enables top option only)
'grab' window with shift^alt and move right (select right key)
- window stays in forground but is defocus'ed
now 'grab' window with shift^alt and
I can confirm this still happens in dapper, i think in edgy.
unfortunately my laptop doesnt unsuspend at all in feisty, so i cant
test this.
