This bug is still valid under Hardy. It occurs when I shutdown the jack
server when started on a Native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1 soundcard,
or when I close Mixxx set up on the same soundcard.

I can't reproduce this bug on a newer Mixxx version (1.6.2beta2) running
on a newer Ubuntu version (7.10). I won't be using the older versions
anymore. Should we close this bug?

Thank you for your time. Actually this package doesn't seem to help more
than compiling and installing the source code.
I added the following in /etc/fstab as adviced on
/usr/share/doc/midisport-firmware/README.Debian:
usbfs /dev/bus/usb usbfs defaults 0 0
I did, in disorder to meet all
I have the same laptop: it doesn't freeze on Edgy, it just takes some
times to complete some tasks at shutdown.
On my grub boot options (/boot/grub/menu.lst), I did remove the quiet
tags and added vga=791, so that I can monitor the tasks completion,
have a more proper framebuffer resolution
Just a little update to add that it still doesn't work on Edgy for the two of

I own an ASUS A6VA too. On Edgy I had to do as Alexandre did as stated
above to have the output work when plugging headphones, with the only
exception that I just concatenated the command at the end of
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base. I can recall of a file named sound, but it
