We want to change the colours so that the text is easier to read but
also so that the clients can be consistent across all platforms. Once
this has been implemented it can be used as a design guide for every
platform going forward.

I'm happy that - as suggested - the buttons expand to the left and push
the upsell button and storage to the left along with it.
I assume that this can be done in code and no further UI work is needed.

Since the last release of Ubuntu, the UI and branding for the splash
screen has been updated on other platforms - specifically Windows - so
this work will bring the home platform of Ubuntu in line with the
latest changes. From a UX perspective we need to show a unified
experience on Ubuntu One
There is a simplified version of this which requires very minor text
changes. See attached image.

The control panel backgound colour is taken from the Ubuntu One colour
palette, so it will remain as is in order for Ubuntu One to be
consistent across platforms. However, the control panel window borders,
in keeping with the design decisions for Ubuntu One, should adopt the

Just to underline the point, I'm running Synergy server on Windows XP
SP2 and the client on Ubuntu 8.04, and anything on the client is lagging
very badly. CPU barely in use.
