Any chance this might be fixed soon? I can't live without mplayer, it's
the only really good video player I know, and after I upgrated to ubuntu
14.04 half of my mp4 files fail to play because of this problem.

To use X you have to:

Same here. Gedit is practically unworkable. When editing text files the

Wall plugin had been disabled as well. Enabling it via CCSM (and
ignoring some complaints about conflicting plugin settings involving
something like Flip up/down or so) resolved the issue.

Yes I read that fastdebug-info a long time ago and IMHO what is says
about speed is incorrect. In Java 6 fastdebug was horribly slow as well
and things do not seem to have changed.
I downloaded and installed Java 8 from Oracle and that does run as
expected. It seemed to be slightly faster than
that runs Java programs painfully slow
(and probably with a lot of memory overhead although I did not check
that).

For some strange reason, I don't see this behavior anymore.
This bug would happen everytime I tried to Open in Terminal. I even
tried to logout/reboot, but my PATH was still reset to default when I
launched the terminal from Open in Terminal.

Found a very strange workaround.
In this example the VM name is VZ02-zentyal
To reproduce:
1) save a copy of /etc/libvirt/qemu/VZ02-zentyal.xml
2) edit this file with sudo virsh edit VZ02-zentyal
3) add in the device stanza this definition (taken from a VM created with
Kubuntu 11.04)

1) create a new VM (using an ISO image mounted on the CD device offered in the

device

vmvga card; but when you try to assign a different resolution (ie
1440x900) the guest system crashes

Can we vote for this bug somewhere? It is ridiculous that this was set
to low prio since it completely cripples Unity. Single viewport
switching is a non-function because switching by definition involves all
viewports. The scale plugin if working properly is THE essential
function that makes Unity

On the same host system with natty 64 Bit I have working correctly with
vmvga virtual video card: natty 64 bit, Oneiric 64 Bit, M$ Windows XP 32
Bit, M$ Windows 7 64 Bit.
The host system hardware is an HP Pavlilion Dv6 notebook
The grapic card is an Nvidia
