compiz) and it works OK
btw : Thunderbird also quickly suffers from the refresh. seems like
mozilla is using a screen refresh routine that is subject to this bug

'simple cheap' USB audio device
any tips?
my requirements are these :
- 1 stereo output (or 2 mono), ideally 2x 6.3mm mono jack (or cinch)
- preferably with cable (so not the 'dongle' type of audio device)

i dont see how ubuntu studio is going to replace microsoft products, but

i'm not sure if there is a group of people (within ubuntu) that is actively

installed it (a couple of weeks ago) the NVIDIA K1000M card was

that i could choose between 3 versions) i was able to use it right away :-)

i live in belgium (speak dutch) however i alway set every thing to english

whenever i watch a youtube video (in chrome) and pidgin generates a sound
during that movie i dont hear the pidgin sound until after i close the youtube
movie (or better, close the chrome tab the video was playing in)

the user you are connecting with has the appropriate rights?
Also check if the shares on your xtreamer device (i dont know this device
