Did that. He system says Starting Up. Begins tobload the kernel and the
last thing I see is the system rebooting somewhere around loading the i815
driver. Nothing else prints on the terminal.

I upgraded Natty to the 2.6.38-10-generic kernel but I end up with an
endless boot loop. I even tried the 2.6.38-10-pae kernel with the same
effect. Basically, the instant GRUB attempts to load the kernel, I get
a full reboot.
I'm out of ideas on what to even try to solve
