I did edit xorg.conf changing the driver from vesa to openchrome. After
restart it got blank screen after login. Then i using safemode to change
driver to vesa and it worked. Then i try untick show this dialog on
startup splash screen on normal mode. Then i changing back driver to
openchrome on
Experiencing this here. This is egregious and should be fixed
immediately.
Comment #9 suggests this atrocious bug has been present since Karmic.
Why has it not been fixed? Who is accountable?

incorrectly
Using 8.10, this problem still exists. I am trying OpenSolaris in a VM
