candy, but for me that is just a bonus, it has an incredible array of
useful desktop management/interface features that other window managers

I switched to Arch and everything works great, but it's an older
version of compiz (0.8.8-3). I'm not sure what features the newer
version brings, but I'm not missing anything I care about.

I have this on Karmic 64-bit.
My external TV is on HDMI.
The checkbox for the primary monitor does not seem to work but as suggested
above, I can cancel and play around a little then sometimes it will actually
catch the configuration I wanted.

I had to set the switch audigy analog/digital output jack visible and

I decided to buy an Audigy 2 which works nicely out of the box, and disabled
the SIS integrated audio since I still had issues with it.
After 3 Ubuntu releases with audio brokenness I simply needed a solution.

seem to have pretty much the same problem:
1. Intrepid with now updated lirc 0.8.4a (had the same problem in 0.8.3 about a
week ago)
2. Card is a Winfast TV 2000 XP with the CoolCommand Remote
3. The remote worked with lirc
On Hardy:
The user has to confirm or cancel the action now, which is good.
Must do so one-by-one on every file, if you use the save all button, which is
questionable but a that is different issue.
The real problem I had is fixed now so this particular bug can be closed
I think.

Same problem here, but with sis966 onboard sound (snd-hda-intel). KDE does the
mapping well in feisty (same as in windows and as the colors should go), gnome
gets it totally wrong though.

I agree with Corey about this bug. In my ~/src/ I do my coding stuff,
and if some files are owned by root (like after sudo make stuff), you
can move them (like in the trash or anywhere), but you cannot delete
them. Pretty irritating :)

I have a mobility 9200, works fine for me, but it might depend on the
rest of your hardware in the laptop.
Just a hint: in section device, the configuration for your videocard,
remove the lines after Option DRItrue (yes all those 10 lines
or so). That's what I've got and suspend works.

jens' solution worked for me too (mkswap, change to new UUID in fstab, edit
resume file, update initramfs). Haven't tried hibernation yet but swap is
activated now on boot so it should work.

The same computer plays them almost perfectly in mplayer (AV sync is a little
