Especially that there is no relation between inplugging / outplugging of the
battery.
On the side, my now 80% complete switch to mandriva to avoid this bug
learned me that (k)ubuntu should drastically improve its kde

In 7.10 this is solved. In the mentioned laptop everything works but the
mic-input (which has never worked with linux).
I will never buy an ati card again - no matter how much they say they
improve their drivers. I'm generally a forgiving person though.
