For me this didn't work. However, I'm using xubuntu so maybe here is the
problem.
When I boot xbuntu with the laptop display closed suspend is not activated so
this behaivor is as expected.
When I open
For me it worked with DKMS and the kernel sources. I did something like
this:
sudo apt-get install dkms
# now get the kernel sources from kernel.org, and extract it somewhere. then:
cd /usr/src
sudo mkdir psmouse-elantech-fix
sudo cp /path/to/downloaded/kernel/drivers/input/mouse/*
Yngve - When you use ubuntu you have to install python-apport (sudo apt-
get install python-apport).

Title:
Elantech clickpad/touchpad lacks
I have the same problem with my 900x3e. The first line of the screen is white,
also when I reboot. When I completly shut down the laptop the line goes away
for a few minutes and then comes back.
When xubuntu is fully booted the line is only about 1/5 of full screen width,
starting left.
