Workaround #39 solved this issue in Ubuntu (Vivid Vervet) for me a
couple of month ago.
Last week I upgraded to Ubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf) and this issue returns.
Neither workaround #39 nor workaround #55 "fix" this issue for me.
Any hints?

Following steps solved this problem for me on Kubuntu 15.04
1) sudo apt-get install libappindicator3-1
2) manually install latest dropbox stable build

I set a new hotkey to show desktop.
$ xfconf-query --channel xfce4-keyboard-shortcuts --property
/xfwm4/custom/Superd --reset
$ xfconf-query --channel xfce4-keyboard-shortcuts --property
/xfwm4/custom/Superd --create --type string --set show_desktop_key

I basically have the same problem. After upgrading from 12.04 to 12.10
the fan of my laptop is running nearly always. In 12.04 the fan wasn't
running most time. CPU temperature is fine:

Core 0: +54.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +90.0°C)
Core 2:
