You probabily wanted to do a dpkg -L not a dpkg -S. A dpkg -L will show you
that the .pm file is present:
dpkg -L libnet-ssh-perl | grep .pm
/usr/share/perl5/Net/SSH.pm
/usr/share/man/man3/Net::SSH.3pm.gz
Same on Dapper and Edgy. Feel free to reopen if it is not the case for

wireless driver does not support SMP kernels, so I was wondering if
Ubuntu shipping an SMP PREMPT enabled kernel was causing the problems
that I have been seeing with that module in 6.06.

I also have a Dell Latitude D820, with BIOS vA01. I experienced the
frozen GRUB boot timer while running some of the Dapper betas, but once
I installed the actual 6.06 release, my GRUB timer started working
again. I've also never experienced the BIOS corruption issue that others

You say you should reformat the partitions. But my experience with this
bug was the following. If I created the mountpoints myself (with amd64
flight 6), I would get this exception. Both mountpoints where set to be
formatted. If I told ubunto to just create the mountpoints by itself,
nothing was wr

This is due to a typo in drivers/usb/serial/anydata.c, see

The workaround is to do
modprobe usbserial vendor=0x16d5 product=0x6501
before plugging in the modem.
In my experience, the 'option' driver handles this modem better than the
anydata

Please be sure that this is the case. I cannot find where this message
comes from.
When you boot, get to the grub menu, and edit the menu entry for this
kernel. Make sure that both flags are absent from the command line.
