The default version of the DejaVu fonts included in Ubuntu 6.06.x
renders quite ugly most of the cyrillyc and greek characters (especially
the bold variants are affected). When replacing the all *.ttf files with
the newer version of the font (currently 2.9) the appearance of t

pretty useless since it is impossible to know which device gets which

Ended up being a config problem. Apparently one of my kids turned the
master volume all the way down (though, the gnome applet showed it being
all the way up). Anyway, problem resolved, and decidedly not a kernel
issue. :-)

We currently don't preserve whitespace after the beginning of the line,
which is the cause of the problem here.
We probably should be replacing runs of whitespace (both leading
whitespace and embedded whitespace) with the pattern " ...
" such that the run ends with a normal whitespace (so th
DSDT file for ASUS Z96J with factory BIOS. This should be the same as
the ASUS S96J as they are identical models. This is not the same as the

I have an ASUS Z96J laptop (this is basically the same as an S96J).
When laptop is booted with the bluetooth module loaded, I randomly get
freezes. Looking at syslog, this is caused by the Intel 3945 driver
needing to be reset on a regular basis.
If I blacklist the bluetooth
I'd suggest checking with the gizmo folks about this then.
As for sonypi, it was only a suggestion. If gizmo seems to the culprit,
then I think the issue lies there.

With me it's not just the mouse but the whole system. It gets to "will

When I try to reorder the keyboard layouts in the "Layouts" tab of
"Keyboard Preferences" by dragging the layouts with the mouse nothing
happends. I expect to be able to reorder the layouts with by dragging
them. Now I have to use the silly up and down buttons next to the list

When looking up a word that doesn't exist in the dictionary that is
found under Applications/Accessories/Dictionary a dialog is opened. The
expected behavior is that there shouldn't be a dialog, since useless
dialogs are evil. Instead you could display the information in the a
I agree with this, I am a quite uncomfortable with the security aspects
of storing the proxy credentials in plain text in a file. Particularly
in a corporate setting, which is where this is most likely to be a
problem.
Anyway, this seems to have been addressed already. I searched a bit more
