Just a different installation order, I'd suspect.
What's the problem, though? Remove /usr/bin/rep from librep, add
Sony VGN-AR170 with Ubuntu Dapper using 1.0-8774 with my Nvidia Go 7600
GT. Removing the splash argument from menu.lst for my current kernel
solved my problems with virtual terminals as well as Hibernation and
Suspend to memory.

I had the same bug on an Intel P4 board.
For me the bug should be promoted to SEVERE because
additional SATA drives are getting more common.

Without getting emotional, I would just like to confirm that I had
exactly the same experience as George Havach above - a fresh install of
Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper, kernel 2.6.15-26-386 on an IBM Thinkpad A20p did not
show this bug, but after switching to the 2.6.15-26-686 kernel the
computer hangs
I have uploaded a fixed package as an interim solution.
Changes:

* Auto-create the work directory if it's in /var/run
* Move the default work directory to /var/lib/tiger/work.

I confirm the bug, although in my case the URL stays at
system:/media/camera, or media:/camera, no matter how often I click on
this folder.
In SuSE 10.0 I get the following:

I tried to pbuild the dapper version of katapult on edgy , and it works
perfectly.
