According to my googling an mpga file is simply an mp3 file with a
different extension - standing for Moving Pictures Group Audio. In
/etc/mime.types it is listed as "audio/mpeg mpga mpega mp2 mp3 m4a"

By default I believe it tries to "fill" the screen, and hence your zoom.
Under the page that lets you set output resolutions for different input
resolutions, you can change the default aspect ratio (what controlled by W).

Actually, this appear to be either a regression in bug 48524 or a faulty
CD. Does the CD pass the integrity check (choose "Check CD for defects"
from the main boot menu). If not, can you please burn the CD at a low
speed (and make sure you check the MD5sum of your downloaded ISO) and
try again?

failure to handle module load errors on certain hardware. This is fixed
in 6.06.1, so you can work around it by upgrading all packages with
'ubiquity' in their names on the running live CD before starting the
installer.

Hi!
I don' t know if what I'm reporting now is related with the above, baut in the
last 3-4 days something new has appeared.
While working on desktop, or not doesn't matter, sometimes the desktop close
the session by itself and return back to grafic login window.

pushing backspace has the aspected beaviur.

Same problem on a 1280*1024 lcd screen. And also fixed by putting the
correct values in /etc/usplash.conf :).
Only remains a strange problem : just before starting gdm, display becomes
completely distorted (see attached screenshot ; the white circle is the camera
flash, i forgot to disable it).
It works fine with vlc 0.8.5, at least under Windows. So it is very
likely that this is a bug of svn version.
