I can confirm this.
I think this is because aptitude wants to be clever and remove unneeded
dependencies. If you do a dist-upgrade, this might not work because
dependencies have probably changed quite a lot and aptitude can't deal
with it properly.
To resolve this problem i would just use apt-get

I just upgraded my g4-based mac mini from dapper to edgy, and I can no
longer run gtk apps over ssh tunnels because they always crash. I can
run non-gtk apps, such as xterm just fine. Here's the output of running
gdb gnome-terminal until it crashed:

By the way, this crash happens only between my i386 machines and my
powerpc machine. Remote X works fine between the i386 machines, it's
just when I attempt to run a remote X app on my i386 box from the ppc
box or vice versa, so I'm guessing there's some endian issue going on.

I just tried the graphical edgy installer and it didn't detect /dev/hdb!
It's listed in the possible install sources and if you select "use whole disc"
it works, but you can't set the partitions by hand. It only finds hda in this

The help for the services-admin application's help documents an
apparently earlier incarnation of the application including different
screenshots and different functionality than that present in Dapper.
To verify:
1. Launch the services-admin application from Gnome using Sys
This is far worse than simply not seeing the devices: When all the
devices are seen, writes are only sent to one hard drive effectively
making your raid worthless.

firestorm: AthlonXP desktop with NVidia binary driver running compiz. 24 bit
display depth
phoenix: P4 Mobile laptop with opensource ATI drivers on a radeon 7500 running

I'm facing a variation of the problem that Jay Pipes is facing. In my
case, if I run Evolution in Gnome, it asks for the keyring password.
After that, things work fine. However, if I run Evolution without Gnome
(i.e., using Fluxbox), Evolution does not ask for the keyring password
at startup. In

The applications are cached, but the description is provided by the
repository. So it will only show up if you have enabled universe. That
