I am having a similar issue with my Dell Inspiron E705 w/ ipw3945.
Every time I boot I get about a 30-45 sec stall while initializing
network interfaces. When the system boots the card is detected and
enabled but does not and will not connect to anything untill I go into

The right-hand Windows key works fine, and you are right, Compose , c
generates ç in my keyboard too. And the last part too, Im used to type these
characters without the compose key. Like that:
' e = é
~ a = ã
' u = ú
' c = ç
So the difference is that until now Im used to type ' c to generate ç
The bug is fixed in 3.5.5.
Since these will probably be the same packages for edgy, and dapper
official packages (3.5.2) are also safe, I guess the bug can be closed.
In other words, this bug is kubuntu-specific, and for KDE 3.5.4 only,
which is now obsoleted by KDE 3.5.5.

After reinstall of foomatic-db and foomatic-db-engine I get the same

I was able to reproduce this issue upgrading from 6.06LTS to 6.10.

I own an atheros AR5006X chipset-based WLAN card which was correctly
detected out-of-the-box in Ubuntu Dapper. Now in Edgy RC, the card is
not detected any more.

I've also got an 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller
(rev 02) on my Gateway MX1023 laptop with no sound, and am running Edgy
Eft with the latest updates.
Does anyone have any information on whether a fix for this will make it
into the release?

I can not import any files. I try to import cd's and it fails each time
with the same message.

file on which it fails to import or does this happen on all files?

I'm on Dapper; so it's 0.3.4-0ubuntu8. I presume you mean what GNOME
theme? it's one of the H2O themes: H2O-gtk2-Amber.
I could restart it with valgrind -- unfortunately it'd be assuming that
this will happen again, and I can't guarantee that :(

notification-daemon using 237MB of memory
I haven't touched any gnome-media config that I'm aware. I have a test
user that has a standard config and the same thing happens with it.
Maybe it was my upgrade to edgy a while back that didn't work properly.
Any ideas on what I should do to fix this?

Ok, reboot the CD and verify it: all OK.
Run memory test and all seems fine too.
Now I'm download the image from another mirror, I will burn it and try
again.
