probably you already know that, but i'm just saying just in case.
it's not good enough to just give another error message: gnome-open
shouldn't fail, it should display the message box asking the username &
password. and from places where i actually entered by username and
password, it should work.
This is something that would be better represented in a spec or in a
implementation proposal on an upstream mailing list and I doubt that
gstreamer is the problematic bit - afaik the captured streams from DVB-T
can be viewed with gstreamer no problem, no?

installing python-vte. I was only able to figure this out because I

I think the root cause is a typo in the debian/control file in the
source package:
XB-Python-Versions: ${python:Versions}
should be
XB-Python-Version: ${python:Versions}
I've attached a patch for the source package but I'm not sure if I've
done it correctly and would appreciate feedback!

Try to start lighttpd and then remove the package, this seems to be an
error in the dapper prerm script.

This was working in Ubuntu 6.06 LTS with no problems. I just upgraded to
Ubuntu 6.10 this morning and walked thru my normal installation process
- including setting up Eclipse 3.2.1, and installing the libsvn-javahl
