16bit mode for 3D, just put

After I installed edgy, I did not find fglrx.ko. I tried to edit
sources.list(comment some lines), removed
linux-restricted-modules-2.6.17-10-generic and installed it again. I got
version 2.6.17.5-11 and the previous version is 2.6.17.6-1.

sorry i got abit a head of myself above post with compiling the drivers
afterwards i realized that the 2.6.17-10-generic kernel already had the
driver.
so i removed the drivers that i compiled and installed and ran sudo
/sbin/depmod -ae
All I had to do from the start was from terminal type
sudo
oh, and by the way: a simple workaround is to add the following line at the end
of your ~/.bashrc file:

I seem to have this problem as well, after a recent upgrade to Edgy.
wmvs used to work.
For example, I issue (and then browse to a wmv file):

I don't think it is. The change in kernel fixed it. Unfortunately it was
exactly and only the kernel that shipped with the dapper disk. Given how
fast the next version came out, I think they must have caught it too. I
had no problem before the kernel that came with dapper, and no problem
after the

had an issue where only one screensaver would come up, regardless of any

btw in order to be allowed to upload a crash dump file, you have to put
*something* in the comment field on the first page, so I put "huh?"

So I posted the lspci outputs of all the duplicate bugs here. Jim Apple
has tried the modified i810 driver patched by Alan Hourihane at
FreeDesktop to fix the issue. It did not fix his problem. If anyone
else could load that driver and see if their problems have been fixed
that would be fantasti
