I've discovered that what appears to be unused grey space to the right
of the applet is probably intentional. If you right click on the grey
space you will see the options for removal.

manager failed (it displays weird entries and refuses to display the
dialog to alter the partitions). I think it's because I had two
partitions on my disk, which were created with Windows XP. They were no

I can also confirm this issue, after some time either a blank screen or
a large screen filling or small x appears. I have worked around the
issue by enabling power management and setting it to the maximum setting
of five hours in the control panel.

Use Herd 1 Desktop CD still gettign same message upon startup.
If I do a cat /var/log/acpid | grep lid returns no information
If I do a cat /proc/acpi/button/lid/*/* it shows the Lid Switch is in a state
closed
Will attach lshal in a minute, but is there anything else I can do to
