I had the same problem with Edgy desktop CD (official version): No root
file system. My workaround was to make root partition at least 2GB.
Partitioner indeed implies that there should be at least 2GB space. But

This is on an i386 system, it is the OTR icon that says if it is
encrypted or not, lets you verify keys etc. You can enable the OTR
plugin, and configure the plugin, but you can not use the plugin because
the icon inside of the message window does not show. Happened just with
the upgrade today

I had a similar experience. Flashplayer was not working. I went to Adode and
downloaded the tar.gz file for Flashplayer 9 - unpacked it and tried
sudo ./flashplayer-installer
as directed - got no errors
but flashplayer still didn't work
at adobe I got more information
and I manually copied the
John, it's not assumed to be a problem with Gnome. This is a problem
with GTK - the toolkit upon which both Gnome and Xfce are built.
