After some investigations I found that any program which alters the
/etc/network/interfaces file deleting the "auto" command from a wireless
interface messes up knetworkmanager. To workaround the problem just put
back the "auto" command before the wireless interface name.

Could you please give the precise Ubuntu version you are using and the
camera modell which appears as a generic drive?
Having the last few messages in /var/log/messages.log might also be helpful
( $tail /var/log/messages.log > camera_pluged_in.log
after after plugin in the camera should do. )

The warning message is overly complex and unhelpful.
It needs to be improved -- for example, it should offer a way to resolve the
problem, check for the existence of another instance of OOo, etc.

Since Dappers is released there is a whole bunch of hardware released
but the kernel is only stabalized no support for new hardware is added.
For long term usage this is no good thing since I'm forced to build my
own kernels which could make my installations unstable.

Are you asking for a sample mp3 Daniel? That would be a sizable
attachment and might raise copyright concerns but I'm happy to if you
really need one.
I just did some testing using versions in Ubuntu Edgy Eft (SJ 2.16.1)
and I can confirm that ID3 tags in mp3s no longer seem to be corrupt.
