on my computer there is more than one Linux distribution; all used to
access the same swap partition (say /dev/sda3)
now more and more distributions address partitions by uuid
BUT: formating the swap partition changes the uuid!
example:
- distribution 1 uses swap

the Undefined kernel key code is harmless and they are triggered by
/usr/bin/ckbcomp in package console-setup (please file a separate bug

if you connect to the internet via proxy server and in root's konqueror profile
no proxy is configured (which I hues it usually is as everyone should use
sudo), the upgrade file cannot be downloaded. Adept shows no error message.
You can see the error only if you start adept from a konsole

I have the same problem here with a Feisty-machine with auto-mounted CIFS
filesystem.
The reason for this seems to be that dbus, which controls NetworkManager is
shut down at /etc/rc0.d/K20dbus which is run before /etc/rc0.d/S31umountnfs.sh

It would be great if the Update Manager could make it easier to detect
inserted live-cds or alternate install CDs. I ran apt-cdrom, so I am not
sure if the updater does that, but it would be a useful touch. I
couldn't find any information about how to do an update with the CD
otherwise.

An interesting fact is that the password-requesting dialog and the
shutdown menu in gnome have the effects I've set, while other windows
keep 'fade'.

This is still an issue. I run dapper on all desktops here, and never had
this problem, until now.
Purchased 2 dell optiplex machines to use as test machines to replace
some old desktops, and when it boots there is no network up whatsoever.
The /etc/init.d/networking script hangs for quite a while

A new xserver and compiz version have been uploaded to the repository a
few hours ago.
Using the latest versions, one does not have to add the
XAANoOffscreenPixmaps option anymore.
