Installing 7.04-beta (alternative, text-mode installation) onto system
equipped with serial mouse.
After initial reboot mouse is not function.

Tried the beta.
It still crashes.

My problem began after a Feisty update as well.
Try booting into recovery mode and running e2fsck on each partition.
Then add the kernel options acpi=off pci=bios That seems to have got my
system working again. I did some tests last night and could boot with
acpi=off but without the option I

I guess I have the same problem on a Asus P5B Deluxe mainboard with

after installation, the system hangs for a while during the boot process
(perhaps 2 minutes), then continues, saying /dev/disk/by-uuid/ does

If I shutdown, usplash is expanded over the whole screen (1680x1050) and the
ubuntu logo looks ugly. Video expansion is disabled in the bios. If I start up,
everything is fine, but after starting X, the framebuffer consoles and usplash
are expanded over the whole screen. I
