Strange, if there is no /usr/share/applications/bittornado.desktop file than there shouldn't be a menu entry. Do you have a bittornado.desktop file anywhere in your filesystem? If you have Gnome you can also check with System-Preferences-Main Menu to which icon file the menu entry is pointing.
