Scim can not be synced from Debian because it has Ubuntu-specific
changes (which can be seen from the version number 1.4.4-7ubuntu1). To

last time I shut down, I was attempting to play a .mov file in VLC that
it didn't recognise (and seemed to fail to start up properly). I don't
