I have the exact same problem.
After upgrading to feisty I uninstalled eclipse (complete removal + got
rid of any configurations and directories left over). After installing
3.2.2-0ubuntu3 eclipse does not start. (I tried starting as root as
well, smae effect in both cases)

7.10, VMware began to run slow due to excessive hard disk activity.

I have two virtual machines set up under MS VPC 2007; one is Ubunu 7.04

OK, I now have a bit more info on this.
I have just recently changed my two main workstations from kubuntu dapper to
feisty (7.04).
In both cases, I completely re-installed from scratch (reformatting '/'), *but*
keeping my
own personal files on another partition. That means that ~/.kde/..., etc

Could you please indicate the program or post the code that caused this
error? The stacktrace appears to have a fair amount of non-character
data in character buffers and strings, and it may help to understand how
these were generated.

load the top banner and then just freeze trying to load something. In
