There's no guarantee that a kernel module has cleaned up correctly after
itself when it's unloaded (and left the hardware in the expected state)
either so hence the request for a reboot. There is a further
complication because you are dealing with a binary module so you can't

I'm getting a similar problem on 7.04 and my Core 2 Duo T7200. Looking
through dmesg, and the output of /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpuX/cpufreq
that the module is only registering (and creating a directory) for cpu1.

Hi,
I don't seem to be affected a lot by this (ot so I think), but this is still a
bug (as reported in other bugs, it could be also the card bios that's wrong) :
I have a Geforce 7300 GT card from Albatron, which is reported by the kernel
and any xorg driver as a Geforce

-nn' or just let us know what sound hardware you have got. Did it used
to work in a previous version of Ubuntu or a different Linux
distribution ?
