For me, sometimes it works (several times in a row) and then it does not
work anymore. I did not figure out quite what exactly is different from
case to case.
This should just be mentioned to emphasise that yes, it could be some
software component used by KDE and/or Gnome but not by Xfce that
Feisty and Edgy are concerned at my end.
Dapper used to work (not in the pre-releases though).
Edgy never powered down.
Feisty powers down frequently but not all the time (50:50).

ok wait, there are 2 indexing processes. the first indexes
applications (and it lasts in few minutes) and the second indexes
documentation (that one is very long)

Addressing your comments in reverse order: the -U option is used to
connect the sooperlooper engine to an extant slgui session for OSC

In order to make this work in all cases, I think ps3-kboot needs to grow
support for mounting the root filesystem by UUID. It looks like it can

Actually, I would rather see the documentation one.
The application is working ok. The reason you see files being repeated
is, build-index does not have any filter (parser) for screensaver
desktop files, so when the indexer gets such a file it says Error:
Could not filter file: No desktop entry

and suspend only when shutting the lid. I have double checked that I do
have Power Management set to suspend when the lid closes. Every second

I Installed XUbuntu on an IBM Thinkpad 600X
lspci gave (NeoMagic Corporation NM2360 MagicMedia 256ZX) for the VGA
slot.
I did change the color to 16 bits from 24 and then I could launch the
terminal.

I have this problem when trying to install using Xubuntu 7.04 Desktop
CD. The hard drive in the laptop is 40 GB ATA/100, model ST9402112A
according to GParted live CD. The drive has Windows XP installed and had
Xubuntu 6.10 next to Windows before I tried to install 7.04. The
installer does not get
