ubuntu -> ubuntu instead of debian -> ubuntu in the debian/changelog of
the last one. This also fixes the removals of random newlines in
debian/changelog that snuck in somewhere during the merge.

I have a latitude C610 with ati chipset & driver. Once I've booted into
gdm I cannot switch the display anymore - the screen flickers but I e.g.
cannot switch to use the laptop screen. This seems to work as long as
the xserver is not running.

PC. In Ubuntu 7.04 my PS/2 keyboard stopped working, although it had
worked in 6.10. I started tweaking my BIOS settings, and noticed that I

The obvious, simple solution is to automatically add the user via
smbpasswd -a to duplicate the unix user name. The problem lies in the
password. Since it is hashed, the system can't just reverse the hash,
get the password, and add it to the samba user database.
A complete solution might be found

To refer back to Morgan's post, I use Kubuntu Feisty and it doesn't power
down but it restarts without a problem. It was the same with Dapper and
Edgy, the only difference with these two was that there was a short click at
the end. As far as I remember Breezy powered down and restarted normally.

I had tetex* packages installed before, but I removed them completely

Ok so everyone is for doing this pam, I found a (slightly) better place
to do this than gdm anyway. Someone should make note if this is done in
pam to remove the related lines in ~/.bash_profile too. I applied a
patch instead of to gdm, too: /etc/X11/Xsession.d/99x11-common_start

same problem with feisty: ubiquity selects "german" keyboardlayout as default -
I think "gearman - no deadkeys" would be better
(because many users not know about deadkeys, a labeling like "german"
and "german with deadkeys'" would be better)

I found a Ubuntu link to the Herd3 iso, but it wasn't working. Does
anyone know if the Herd3 is stil being made available? If not, I guess
that that may be another reason to start from Edgy.
