I can confirm this, replacinf UUID with the /dev entry in fstab works.
Also replacing dbus from 7.04 Feisty with dbus (1.0.2-5ubuntu1) gutsy does the
job.
So updating feisty with the gutsy dbus package will be a solution for a bugfix
upgrade.

Just backed up my theory a little bit.
I dumped swapon -s into a file near the end of checkroot.sh and
confirmed that there was only one swap entry (/dev/sda9) at this time.
When the system was fully up and running, there were the two entrys with
and without 'mapper' again.

error message is stored in ~/.xsession-errors). Launching from the
command line results in the error message "No good client name or JACK
server not running?". This error

And to follow up on that... Feisty had a fit the second after I wrote
the above, ergo, problem not fixed.
I was not able to duplicate my fix at first. I let the batter drain and
restarted the computer - the Gnome power aplet was saying AC power *even
with the AC unplugged* and acpitool seemed to b

I can confirm this problem on Kubuntu Edgy. Automatic spell check does

Could you please repeat the process several times and confirm if the problem
