I've looked at speedfan. It is basically lm-sensors technology ported to
Windows.
The better approach is to install lm-sensors, sensorsd, and read-edid on
your machine. It does require some setup, (basically, running a script
so that the machine can detect what sensors you have and load the

I have this same issue (items 1, 2, and 3 above) on linux-
image-2.6-20-16-lowlatency (I didn't spend any time on -generic). For
fun, I copied the snd-hda-codec.ko and snd-hda-intel.ko modules from
2.6.20-15-lowlatency into 2.6.20-16-lowlatency, and low and behold,
sound worked.

Since I have upgraded to Feisty (from Edgy; ThinkPad t41p) *none* of the
drives other than the hard-drive work as they should (internal CDWriter,

The problem has to do with the kernel, without a doubt. When regressing

I experience a slightly different problem on my IBM T42p laptop. Resume

I have this error

Sebastian, I am very proud to be a member of a Ubuntu community and
one of thousands of testers and I am fully aware of alpha state of
Gutsy. I want to help to beGutsy as excellent as possible to be proud
of it at recommending to friends, so I report two similiar bugs to

Agree with Petr, this is not about warning but about not functioning
application, they just don't start or crash after a few seconds, look at
the examples above and if someone reports it it should be taken serious
instead of an arrogant response. Can we take this higher up within the
community?
Please recheck the #120452, it isn't a duplicate of this one.
