The distortions have not been happening for some weeks. Instead now I'm
experiencing hickups when playing media files over cifs-mounted samba
shares, but only once per boot-cycle so far. I could try if this also

I have exactly the same issues with Feisty freezing/crashing with the
same combination of Netgear WG111T wireless USB dongle and ndiswrapper.

Debian has synced the version from Ubuntu feisty and included the
necessary packaging changes to automatically detect the distro specific
parts.

The strange thing is that I've checked current ttf-freefont (20060501cvs-10)
ttf-freefont-20060501cvs/sfd/FreeSerif.sfd and Georgian letters are ok...
but after package purge and reinstall there are still GHAN (U+10E6) letter
errors...
I don't know howto explain this ... maybe somewhere in Ubunt

After a clean install( except for the home partion) of Feisty Amarok refuses
to play MP3 files as mentioned above.
Amarok asks to install MP3 support and seems do so.
Deleting the file "catalog.cache" in ~/.xine resolves the issue
