Using Kubuntu 7.04 and am still seeing this problem. Took me a few days to find this workaround. Added acpi=noirq to the the grub menu.lst at the end of the kernel line and I am now able to use ethernet. Had to do this again after doing an update. Let me know what I can do to help. --
