Thnx to all developers which solved the problem. With today's update i
managed to use latest libgtk2.0.0*- and ooo2.3.0_build680m1-packages. As
a result there ain't any broken packages anymore.
Strange that you can use the test button at all, since it should be
disabled by default for Intel cards.
Could you please append the file pictable.txt, that can be created by
running the following command: displayconfig-gtk -w pcitable.txt
Displayconfig-gtk doesn't support xrandr yet.

Confirm that this issue persists as described on my Thinkpad T61 with
Gutsy Tribe 5 and subsequent updates (to date of posting).
The python script fix fixes it for me, and I've made the "fix"
persistent after reboot by adding the script as a Startup Program in

It's been a while, so I don't have any details to give you about the
boot-up at that time, but I do recall that it did boot properly. The
main problem (as far as I've figured it out) is that my Promise
Ultra133TX2 PCI ATA133 card and my nVidia CK804 rev. f3

here i can see the icons.

One additional comment/question -- I don't know how a "server"
installation of Ubuntu would handle a firewire drive. It might be
relevant because that's actually how I'm using this one, and it's a bit
annoying to have to log in to get whatever process in Gnome kicks off
the removable drive detectio
