Hi!
That's a GNOME bug: the one-part GNOME menue uses the three-part menue (apps,
system, places) and its style options. It's unlikely to be fixed as a new GNOME
menue is in work and will probably be released with GNOME 2.22. But if someone
wants to hack in, a fix for 2.20.1 would be possible.

Hi,
This is fixed in edgy and feisty. In gutsy, xfce4-terminal doesn't ship
/usr/bin/Terminal anymore (renamed to /usr/bin/xfce4-terminal), so this is not
necessary to keep the conflict between these two packges.
Thanks.

Quick addition - I just noticed that after plugging in the mouse, it
still works normally _but only within the original area_. For instance,
I have just connected the mouse and can now select text, click around,
etc. within this text box - but all other clicks and mouseover events
are ignored

No problem.
OT question (not sure if that is allowed here?): did you get the multimedia
keys on the right side to work ? The ones on the left (browser/email/..) work,
but on the right (play/pause/stop/next/..) do not.
