I now observed that sometimes, in a KDE application (Kate), only a newly
opened dialog causes the keyboard to stop working. If I close that
dialog immediately and open it again, the keyboard works normally again.

I have suggested in the past that a simple way to do this would be to

default, but then bug 144113 appeared. To fix this I have set
"NoDisplay=false" but I did not move the entry to another menu. I will
move the entry to the "Accessories" menu. There is also the "kjobviewer"

I think that it is actually a more general issue: the package is
installed belonging to "root". Thus, ~/.kde/share/config/krusaderrc is
owned by "root" (not by the ordinary user, as all the other "rc" files
in the same fold

I say rather acceleration than not. I mean, I might not have the same problem
as others here, but even without the fix, suspend/resume works (sometimes) if
compiz is not running. Then all one needs to do to get acceleration back on is
to restart the server.
Please don't add this fix.
