After fiddling with several id3 editors, it seems that this bug is
invalid. The kid3 app finally showed me what is happening.
Amarok only generates id3v2.4 tags, while tools like id3v2 can only
recognize id3v2.3 tags. Even my mp3 device can only recognize id3v2.3
tags.

I was having the same issue with the black screen Dell that has a ati
x1400 video card and widescreen lcd (1440x900) and was able to fix the
problem using the steps below.
1) Change the resolution in /etc/usplash.conf to 1024x768
2) Add vga=791 to the kernel line in /etc/boot/menu.lst
3) sudo upda

The problem is indeed random. I think it only occurs when Adept shows a list of
packages matching a given search pattern in the search box. When the bug
occurs, the description is displayed twice, once for a package matching the
search and once for another package not matching the search. Using
Martin's comment about /dev/tty and cupsd seems related to an issue I've
recently experienced and attached a report to bug #147800 "...bluetooth
printing was working but is not..."
Disabling appamor provided a work-around in that case but I'd like to
sort the issue out with appamor or cupsd.

Looks like a new package has been introduced in gutsy for building 32
bit apps on amd64 - adding the gcc-multilib package fixed my problem.

Hi Thom,
maybe you have xserver-xgl installed? I had it installed and I simply
did not know (probably I just forgot) -- and searched really REALLY long
for the reason for my crashes with glxgears and the damned slow display.
Isn't there a way to keep Intel users away from that package?

Just upgraded from Feisty do Gutsy (2.6.22-14).
When X tries to start, it just complains that it can't find kernel
module "nvidia" (nvidia.ko) -- there is no such file in linux-
restricted-modules, according to dpkg --listfiles
I tried reinstalling (apt-get install --reinstall) linux-restricted-

it's related to Xorg, because the problem occurs way before X is
started.
