On Gutsy final (Linux 2.6.22-14-generic), disabling 'alias video off'
renders the brightness controls totally inoperable (not even X
restarts). Other uses for the Fn key (volume, etc.) continue to work
regardless.

Cameron or Andrea, could you please add a comprehensive summary to this
bug (edit summary for that) so the sru team can review it easily?
You can find the points needed at

Let me repeat: Manually creating the symlink does help.
This doesn't help the people that want to use xdvi out of the box.

HEADS UP:
This release is not perfect and may be a regression from previous
releases. Phoronix reports mixed success, not to mention xorg.conf needs
to change a bit (un-disable composite extensions), video flickering in
Compiz, and Compiz needing backporting.
Please be careful and get plenty of
a little bit more -linux friendly- information on my config.
i will try to find the right package.

I don't know how HAL and guidance-power-manager exactly work, but IMHO
the source of the problem is the change of the udi of the lid button:
lshal before suspend:
...
udi = '/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer_logicaldev_input_2'
button.has_state = false (bool)
button.type = 'sleep'
Since there is no crash, I am not able to get any backtrace. I am just
attaching strace output when totem-dbgsym is installed. I eventually
closed totem when I saw that strace was generating same output in
iteration.
** Attachment added: totem_debug_strace.log
I think it's a problem with my burner or with the burning software
because i ordered a Kubuntu 64 CD and it worked perfectly. I was using
Nero6 in windows at the time. I'll download later and burn the new one
with another software. Thanks.
