I own a Acer Aspire 5100 with Radeon 200M.
Starting from kernel 2.6.23, radeonfb is claimed to support this video card.
In fact, when I enable fbcon and radeonfb, either as module or both static, I
get a beautiful 180x50 console, with crisp and nice fonts.

Microsoft has a majority market share in the new desktop PC
marketplace. This is a bug, which Ubuntu is designed to fix.
For every Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Linspire or Apple Mac that is sold, we get
a little fix to that bug. And more non-microsoft means less
LordFarquaad: I had not thinked on this, sorry. You can try with the

Sorry if this is a stupid question but how do I get it to test ?
I have added proposed in the settings of adept and other packages now
show as upgradable but not kdelibs.

It haven't fixed it for me either. Still crashes with above steps. Also
image is weird on shutdown. Ubuntu logo is rendered in stripes and
repeated across the screen several times
