Yes it is the same bug. The reason why this whole thing occurs is that
xserver-xorg-core conflicts with xserver-xorg-video. Both nvidia-glx and
xorg-driver-fglrx provide xserver-xorg-video. In other words, both
nvidia-glx and xorg-driver-fglrx require xserver-xorg-core, in order to be
installed.

I can confirm that it is annoying when trying a resume after a kernel
update. I had to deinstall uswsusp and hibernate before my Thinkpad
started again. Afterwards the swap partiton was not readable and had to
be reformatted. I propose to prevent a hibernate or suspend to RAM after

I tried the Hardy kernel linux-image-2.6.24-1-server and it didn't help.
Unfortunately, since I was unable to get a stable configuration working,
the IT department have taken the machine away so I no longer have access
to it.

Right after I filed this bug, every program started to crash, including
the firefox that brought this up, the openafs client/server, matrixview,
even the Report a program program was bringing up dialogs.
