On a Thinkpad T42 with Samsung HD, the correct parameter is 254 and not
255. With 255, the load cycle increases almost every 4 or 5 seconds.

Nope, OpenOffice used the default printer - at least it showed the
correct printer name, but then didn't print. And now it does print
without changing the printer manually in OOo. I persume it has something
to do with the gtk themes, but after reseting to human theme, it took
several hours, reboots

debian sync is over since december 13th but we still can merge/upgrade
that package before February 14th ( the FeatureFreeze ). I suggest to do
so when the 2.2.3 release will be ready. Once it's ready, I can build

After reading some of the recent comments in the 64-bit forum I've tried
changing the flash player. I uninstalled the nonfree player, and had no
freezes with Firefox or at any other time. Then I added gnash, and am
still not getting freezes, with 1.2GB RAM.
My freezes were classic complete hang-up

I've created a rhythmdb xml file that contains all the iTunes radio
stations. I don't know how often those stations change but if you want

time. Apparently they have figured out that it's a problem with the
Adobe Flash plug-in for Linux. See

The DynamicTwinView fix worked for me, too. For what it's worth, I was
interested in 60hz on my flat panel because it's necessary (in North
America) for MythTV's "bob" deinterlacing to work right, which IMO is
absolutely the smoothest way to watch on your PC. ;)

Thanks man, that did solve the problem. And everything works like it
should (tuxracer.)
But in Xorg.conf, there were two places where Driver "i810" was mentioned. I
changed both into Driver "intel".
