Thanks for the report, About me grab the info (Email, Telephone, Instant
Messaging) of the user from evolution so if you remove the dependency it
wont work and the users can always change their password by the users-

I've just tested Hardy Alpha 3 and the bug still exists, but it happens less
often. I used the live cd for 50 minutes and the spontaneous change in
brightness happened just once (around 48th minute).

I have a similar problem. I have a modem attached to a USB to Serial
converter. I use hylafax and often the modem disconnects. the daemon log

I think implementing distutils is not appropriate in this SRU proposal,
since it will introduce additional complexity and there is a higher risk
of introducing regressions than simply add a dependency. In Hardy, it
seems it can be synced, though.

This small perl script currently doesn't work because of that bug. The bug
shows up when executing line 11.
