Whenever starting any component of wine, e. g. 'wine settings' or
'browse virtual c drive' and also launching an application via wine
freezes Ubuntu 7.10 at once. The System is absolutely frozen, you cannot
move the mouse, neither switch to a terminal, and there is no rescue key
combination working
I don't know if re-open this bug-report or not, because crashes could
have differents causes.

I've checked the settings now. Xulrunner 1.9 is installed. Tested it with prism
(GoogleTalk).

any pattern here, although increased network usage sounds like a good
guess. Running a system monitor applet on my panel set to measure system

If you keep the old one from gutsy it will not work! It has to be regenerated

I also experience this. I have a command-line install, and I compiled
and installed openbox 3.4.6.1 from source. I downloaded the latest ATI
driver from the website, built the packages and successfully installed
it according to the directions on the "Unofficial ATI wiki". The
install goes fine,
I think my crash came after hovering over the workspace switcher as
well. See trace.

I won't be able to test more installations at the moment. I blew up my
motherboard last week attempting to place a brand new dvd writer.
I ordered a new computer: Dell Inspiron 531 with a AMD LIVE X2
processor.
I assume that from then on I need the amd64 distro instead of the i386.
