I fixed my problem by looking at the default setup of another system and
noting that it did not have:
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/90gpg-agent
I renamed that file, restarted X, and all is well. Seahorse is running
by itself rather than under gpg-agent:
/usr/bin/seahorse-agent --execute

Why is this bug marked as 'medium' importance? It looks like everybody with a
notebook with more than 1 core is affected. I guess this has to be marked
critical...
Can you (the owner of the bug) please change this?
Or is there a reason to leave it with lower importance?

unmounting cifs shares on reboot/shutdown is still a problem on Hardy
with the new package as in

Well here's another piece of the puzzle. My comment on 3/26 that all was
well was due to me running gpilotd from the command-line. My follow-up
reply on 4/1 occurred when I used the gpilot-applet to manage gpilotd.
That method is always resulting in a crash. Synching by running gpilotd
