to happen with/without compiz enabled. My machine is a Thinkpad X60 with intel

On Ubuntu Hardy Heron I have run into the same (or very similar) problem when
running wireshark under gksudo. Using sudo to run the program with superuser
privileges seems to have avoided the problem.
If the OP finds this to work, perhaps the problem can be traced to gksudo
rather than wireshar

I have the same problem with 8.04. My wireless doesn't reconnect after
my notebook resumes from sleep. Network manager displays "Networking
disabled" and I can't re-enable it. Also, network settings hangs when I

I got it working by modifying the URI by hand (from dav:// to davs://).
However, I've got the impression that the dav implementation of gvfs is broken.
I can't get it working properly with my DAV server, nautilus keeps complaining
about status 301 (permanent redirect).

It is just not listed there in any name. I remember PostgreSQL 8.2
listed there, so it's likely to be a 8.3 bug. I do have three "Database
Server" there, all for MySQL.

yesterday, I try to install Hardy Heron with alternate cd and it works but when
I boot, I have the same problem.
And Ubuntu 7.10 work perfectly on my laptop too. I use Compaq Preserio R3000
ps. it is the same problem when I run livecd of Hardy too.

You need to be sure that Eel is being upgraded, preferably before
Nautilus itself is being upgraded; the missing symbol is not present in
2.22's Eel. If this doesn't fix the problem, please let us know.

Same problem for me. I just upgraded to Heron, and I've noticed that
Xterm sometimes works and sometimes does not. For example, I just tried
all the xterm commands which tadowguy filled in in the first post, and
they sometimes worked, and sometimes did not. (yes, I re-ran them a
couple times).

In my case it works too, but only in open networks. I.e. I have no troubles
connecting to my WLAN at home, but I can't connect to my university's WLAN,
which requires 802.1X authentication. Wpa_supplicant just can't attach to

login screen (before doing any login)... so I'm not sure if this even
related to logoff.
Now going to try from the live cd... just to be sure if the problems
comes from the upgrade or if it's happening also on the live cd itse
